Offline home assistant that survives internet outages

I run Gemma 3 4B quantized on a small mini-PC to handle smart-home routines, answer household questions and help troubleshoot appliances. Because it's fully local, it keeps working through internet outages, which matters a lot in a rural area with flaky connectivity. It's not going to write your novel, but for short, structured requests it's fast, cheap to run 24/7, and never depends on a cloud provider being up.
