Write a guide for Tokenstead

Tokenstead is where people figure out how to run AI on their own hardware - Macs, single-GPU rigs, home labs. If you've squeezed a model onto a 16GB card, benchmarked a quantization, or cut your cloud bill, that's a guide someone else needs.

Why write here

  • A real audience. Your guide lands in front of homelabbers and self-hosters actively choosing hardware and models - not a generic dev blog audience.
  • No separate account. Sign in with GitHub. Your handle is your byline; your guides live at tokenstead.ai/guides/<your-slug>.
  • A public portfolio. Every published guide is credited to you and listed on your profile. Bring proof of your local-AI chops to a job or a community.
  • Cost-driven, practical tone. We publish what runs, what it costs, and what it needs - not linkbait. Your knowledge fits the house style.

How it works

  1. Sign in with GitHub and open the editor. Write in Markdown with a live preview.
  2. Save a draft, then submit for review. A moderator checks it before it goes live.
  3. Approved guides appear on /guides, in the feed, and in search - usually within a day.

What we publish

Practical local-AI content: model-vs-hardware matchups, quantization comparisons, build logs for specific rigs, cost-to-run breakdowns, and setup walkthroughs for real hardware. We don't take link-spam or AI-generated filler - external links are nofollow and a human reviews every submission.
